Our Community
We’re proud to be more than just a gym. At the Portway RDC, we also host a variety of community sports clubs and offer rugby and five aside football pitches for local teams to use. See below for details of the community sports clubs that are currently using the Portway RDC. If you are a community sports team looking for somewhere to play or train get in touch.
Get in touchSt Brendan's RFC
Established in 1929, St Brendan's is a well-established club with a strong reputation for developing players and playing high--quality and enjoyable rugby.
St Brendan's players have gone on to play for Bristol and achieved representative and international honours. Many of our junior members participate in the Bristol Bears academy programme. Although there are players who have played at elite level, the ethos of the club is to be inclusive, all are welcome irrespective of ability.
The club's mission goes beyond winning matches. We’re here to grow the game, create opportunities, and make a real difference to the lives of people in Bristol. The club wants to use its new home at the Portway RDC to increase participation in rugby and create a thriving, multi-sport community hub
Both the seniors and juniors train mid-week throughout the season, with fixtures on Saturdays for seniors and Sundays for juniors.
